Holiday Travel Expected to Rebound
Holiday travel has long been considered a bellwether for the travel and hospitality industry. There is good news! The annual Maritz® Poll, which was released last week, revealed that more people are planning to travel for the holiday season this year.
Experts predict holiday travel spending to to increase by $3.85 billion from last year. This year, 28 percent of people plan to travel for the holidays, which is an increase from only 23 percent from last year. On average, travelers plan to spend $349.00 more on holiday travel expenditures this year, which is a 41 percent increase from last year. In 2009, the travel industry suffered a $4.05 billion loss during the holiday season.
This is all great news for the travel and hospitality industry. We hope that it is a sign of good things to come for 2011.
Whether you are traveling near or far, Image Audiovisuals wishes you a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
