Part #4: YouTube
YouTube, the rapidly growing video-sharing site boasts well over a billion views every day. The popular site is widely used in the meeting industry, serving as both a promotional tool and a valuable informational resource. Image Audiovisuals has compiled few of the ways that meeting planners are utilizing YouTube:
Meeting Promotion: Meeting planners can use YouTube’s distribution channels to promote their meetings at a fraction of the cost of traditional media. There are several ways to do this, including uploading brief preview videos of speakers and presenters prior to the event, or uploading footage of the destination city or event venue to generate excitement. Since the site is ideal for viral marketing, you might consider adding some humor or originality to your video to help it spread faster.
Consider setting up a channel specifically for your event, and be sure to properly tag your videos so they are easily found. Keep in mind, a video’s visibility is increased with increased views, comments, bookmarks to favorites, and “thumbs up” so encourage all of these actions.
Meeting Follow-Up: After your meeting, consider uploading event footage to YouTube to serve as a reminder to your attendees, or a recap for people who weren't able to attend. You can also upload recorded testimonials of satisfied attendees at your event. All of this footage - event footage, testimonials, etc. - can be used to market future meetings.
Meeting Experience: Videos are a powerful way to improve a meeting experience. You can use YouTube’s live streaming feature for keynote presentations, interviews with presenters or attendees, or to broadcast remote presenters via Skype. If you use video at your meeting, consider using HD screens in the guest and meeting rooms.
Informational Resource: YouTube is an incredible resource to help you conduct your business activities. There are many channels on the site geared specifically towards meeting planners, containing a wealth of information and opportunities for collaboration. You can use YouTube to scope out potential meeting locations, venues, speakers, or vendors.
YouTube videos are created by everyone from novices to experts. If you need assistance with a professional video campaign, Denver-based Image Audiovisuals offers a full-service Multimedia department to create high-quality multimedia productions using state-of-the-art technologies.
