Are You Getting Your ROI (Return on Involvement)
?

EventsAs a meeting professional, you are constantly invited to participate in professional or trade organizations. We were intrigued by a recent article by Aida Campbell, RMPCMA 2010 President, where she wrote about getting a ROI (Return on Involvement). Aida defines ROI as, “the return we receive from the investment made for membership in a professional or trade association.”

There are numerous meeting and events professional organizations in the Denver metro area, including
Professional Convention Management Association: Rocky Mountain Chapter (RMPCMA) and Meeting Planners International: Rocky Mountain Chapter (MPIRMC).

What are the benefits of volunteering your precious time to a professional or trade organization?

  • Opportunity to build professional relationships with colleagues in your industry.
  • Chance to establish yourself as a leader or an expert in your field.
  • Invitations to valuable industry events, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
  • Greater business success through referrals.
  • Access to numerous valuable resources and publications.
  • Keep in the loop the latest industry developments and trends.
  • Access to the organization’s directory.
  • Opportunities to do charity work and to help your community.
  • Membership and committee involvement look great on a resume!

Are you getting your ROI? If you decide to make the commitment, it is crucial that you give it 100 percent - your efforts will pay off.

At Image Audiovisuals, we believe that involvement in professional organizations is crucial. Scott Collinsworth, Image Audiovisuals' Director of Sales at the Colorado Convention Center joined RMPCMA five years ago. An active volunteer, Scott recently became the RMPCMA 2010 President-Elect. He has not only become an industry leader to his colleagues, but numerous business opportunities have arisen from his involvement with the organization.

Dan Carrese, Director of Sales of Image Audiovisuals’ Rentals and Staging division, is very involved with the local chapter of Meeting Planners International (MPI), along with this year’s MPIRMC & RMPCMA Golf Tournament. He is serving on the logistics committee and has designed the tournament's logo.

If you are interested in becoming involved with the RMPCMA, MPI, or with the annual MPIRMC & RMPCMA golf tournament, please contact us at 303-758-1818 for more information. We hope that your future Return on Involvement (ROI) is great!
