RMPCMA has joined forces with RAFT (Resource Area for Teaching), a creative resource center where teachers can take classes, find inspirational ideas, and buy inexpensive materials for hands-on learning activities. RAFT is able to add value to donated items, which are repurposed into hands-on teaching tools and activities. Join other volunteers who care about education and the environment.
RMPCMA is collaborating with RAFT to create the Campaign for Corks! It will collect unwanted items to be assembled into teaching kits. Items to be collected include: corks, bamboo skewers, coffee stirrers, food trays, polystyrene #6, drinking cups, gloves (plastic, latex), portion cups with lids, strawberry baskets, straws, promotional items (bags, shirts, hats, toys, trade show gifts), foam core, sewing kits, pads of paper, pens, bottle caps, calendars, erasers, pens and pencils, file trays, staple removers, staples and staplers, paper clips, tape, markers, white boards, binders, file folders, CDs and CD plastic jewel cases, business cards, bottle caps, arts and crafts materials, party supplies, plastic containers, and magnets.
The RMPCMA Community Service Committee will host an appreciation event on July 29th to thank all RMPCMA volunteers. if you are interested in attending, volunteering, or participating in this event, or any RMPCMA community service event, please contact Michael Tedford at mtedford@denverconvention.com or 303-228-8109.
