A Peak Into the Future of the AV Industry

InfoComm International, the AV industry’s global trade association, recently hosted a two-day meeting to discuss our industry’s future. Several notable predictions arose from the meeting that relate to the general meeting planning industry.

The association predicts that the definition and scope of the AV industry will continue to evolve as AV systems become a business necessity, not just an enhancement. In particular, videoconferencing, digital signage, and streaming will become the hotbeds of the industry. Clients will increasingly demand visual communication over straight text, including 3D and virtual reality, along with displays that are "bigger, brighter and thinner." Wireless capabilities will continue to improve communication and connection preferences.

Image Audiovisuals, and other AV companies, will need to respond to the industry’s evolving trends by implementing relationship-based selling techniques, adhering to “green” standards and certifications (i.e. LEED® certification), and increasingly adding value for our customers.
