Denver Hotel Revenue on the Rise
There is good news for Denver hotels! PKF Hospitality Research recently reported that Denver-area hotel revenue per available room (“RevPar”) is expected to grow by 6.2 percent this year.
This estimate follows a 9.1 percent rise last year, which was higher than originally anticipated. Denver’s RevPar declined 12.1 percent in 2009, which was the worst year in at least two decades.
According to the report, the 2010 increase was the result of an 8.4 percent increase in room occupancy and a 0.7 percent rise in average room rate. Higher-priced properties fared particularly well.
The best news of all is that PFK predicts that in 2011, Denver-area hotels’ occupancy rates will rise by 2 percent, room rates will grow by 4.1 percent, and the average room rate will be $100.43.
This is just one report that bodes well for the Denver tourism industry this year. Denver's convention and meeting business has also been on the rebound in recent months. All signs point to a great year!
